The GIRS client base is expanding too, says Trevor, with increased levels of enquiries from local authorities and main contractors in particular covering the whole spectrum of projects including civil works, schools, offices and factories.

GBH was the first South Yorkshire Company to gain accreditation in both design and construction following a rigorous assessment procedure by Lloyd’s Register - the GIRS administrator.

Two good examples of how GBH take the hassle out of the equation for clients can be found in this issue of Connect, and Trevor says the service is enabling clients to achieve real cost savings and reduced lead times:-

“GIRS allows us to work directly on the networks without waiting for network engineers to complete their part. That translates into a trouble-free turnkey package for our clients.”

“Essentially, our clients say ‘we need a gas supply, here’s the demand we want’ and we do the rest - taking care of all the application procedures and paperwork. This service includes liaison with third parties and all necessary licence agreements.”

“It’s that easy!”

As Trevor points out, all GIRS work handled by GBH is undertaken by our trained specialists and is never sub-contracted.

“We are planning on adding more teams to GIRS-related work as demand increases over the coming twelve months” Trevor concluded.
